Carried Mothers | A faith-filled plan for your adult child with autism

What happens to my child when I'm gone?

A real, faith-filled plan for your adult child with autism, and a companion beside you, so you never carry the future alone.

Mother to mother

I know the 3 a.m. version of this fear.

You are not allowed to get sick. You cannot retire, or travel, or plan a year ahead like other women your age. Friends stopped asking, because they do not understand a life where your grown son still needs you every single day. You love him with everything you have. And some nights the love and the fear sit on your chest at the same time.

You are not weak for being tired. You are a mother who has carried a whole life on her own shoulders. Here is what I want you to hear: the fear is real, and so is the way through it. There is a plan you can build, one page at a time. And you do not have to build it alone.

The fear is real. So is the plan.

Our story

I didn't build Carried Mothers as a business. I built it out of a question.

It used to keep me awake at night: what happens to my son when I'm no longer here to care for him? For years, I carried that fear alone. I loved my boy with everything I had, and still the future felt like a weight no one else could see.

I looked everywhere for a plan that understood not just the legal papers, but the heart of a mother who has given her whole life to her child. I couldn't find it. So I made it.

Everything here comes from my own journey with my adult son, and from my faith that with God all things are possible. I created these tools so no other mother has to carry that future alone. You are not alone, and your child's tomorrow can be planned for with peace instead of panic.

I am a mother who knows what it is to love a child with your whole life, and to carry a fear you can't say out loud. I lost my daughter. She was twenty-six. And even now, I carry the guilt every mother knows, the wondering if I did enough, planned enough, protected her enough. If there had been something like this, something that understood not just the papers, but the heart of a mother who has given everything, I would have held onto it with both hands.

Carried Mothers is not about legal documents. It is about a mother's love finally having somewhere to put all that worry, so it becomes a plan instead of a weight you carry alone in the dark. Anna built this from her own journey, and you can feel it. If you are a mother carrying the question of what happens to your child when you're gone, please know: you are not alone, and your love can become a plan. That is the most powerful thing I know.

For years, I ran centers for children, many of them with autism, and I sat with more mothers than I can count. What broke my heart again and again was watching them search for help with the question that haunts them most, what happens to my child when I'm gone, and find nothing. There is so little out there for these mothers, and almost nothing that speaks to both the practical plan and the heart behind it.

That's why Carried Mothers matters. Anna has built the very thing I watched so many mothers go looking for and never find. If more mothers simply knew a resource like this existed, they could trade that constant quiet fear for a real plan, a real place, and a real peace. I've seen this gap firsthand, and this fills it. If you're a mother carrying this alone, please know there is finally something made just for you.

Anna understands the caregiver's exhaustion because she's lived it. As someone who provides respite care myself, I've seen firsthand how much courage it takes to ask for help, and how much Anna gives women permission to need it. I highly recommend her to any caregiver who feels like they're carrying this alone.

What makes Anna different is that she's not offering theory. She's lived the fear of asking someone else to step in, the guilt that comes with needing a break, and the heartbreak of wondering what happens to your child when you can't do this alone anymore.
